Photographer's Note
This is the third lighthouse to be erected at North Carolina's Oregon Inlet. It opened in 1872 and is cast iron towering 50 meters.

Hi Ray,
Impressive tower and great shot. I guess a lot of people would compose the lighthouse on thirds, whenever I find them I always do, but this shows why rules should be broken, the central compositn works pertly and emphasises the shape and height of the structure perfectly. Excellent framing and an enviable blue sky (I miss those). The little house at the bottom reminds me a small dog lying at its masters feet.
Cheers

Hola Ray
Lighthouses are attractive photo subjects as happens here with a well composed vertical frame, an incredible sky that helps with contrast and the charming little house at the side
Good work, regards

Hello Ray, Impressive view of this high lighthouses, this time in black abd white stripes. The house under it looks so small. very interesting series. Lighthouses seem so ramantic.

Hello Ray,
There's a kind of simple beauty in these two buildings that I like. One small, one tall, both very nicely catching the warm sunlight. It's a straightforward and pleasant photo.

Gert

Ciao BodieRay
A flawless photo of this old lighthouse. The characteristic little Lighthouse Keeper's cottage is the high-light for me, interestingly it seems to be a separate building to the lighthouse itself, which is very different to the lighthouses here in Oz. Nice natural colours, good sharpness and of course excellent choice of the vertical frame.
Well done

Hi Ray
sorry, its been a while since I've taken a look at your gallery - and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to look closer at this lighthouse.
lighthouses are a subject that are a must, don't you think?
the black and white rings really stand out, and of course the little lighthouse keepers house is a bonus too.
a fantastic piece of history here, love it
cheers
