Hi Alejandro,

You are totally right. This sort of thing is very disappointing. People are too careless (or just far too lazy) with their rubbish. A bit of personal responsibility is all it takes to make a big difference.

I'm constantly picking up rubbish along the sides of the road around my house and the 3km between our two farms but it never takes very long for more to accumulate. Some people are a disgrace.

As individuals, instead of waiting for someone else to clean it up, we need to stop being lazy and do it ourselves. We can all make a difference by NOT stepping over that piece of litter we see but, instead, picking it up and disposing of it properly. It only takes a small amount of effort and a little bit of pride in our living environments. Maybe, if we're seen to be doing the right thing, others will follow our example.

As for the photo, I see nice use of colours, excellent contrasting light, and attractive depth of focus but I'm not sure that, given the message you're trying to convey, having an empty drink bottle in the foreground is entirely appropriate. It's colour is good for the image but the fact that it's also potential litter almost borders on contradicting your note. However, knowing that you're a good person, I'll assume that you put it into the appropriate recycling bin and, for that, you get a big, green smiley!
