Photographer's Note
Macro Spider - Wind was blowing, took about 15 pictures, this one is the best of the batch. After I took the photos, I was looking around and seen about 3 more of these green spiders on this flowering plant. eeek!

Beautiful. I have tried to get this type of picture many times but never managed to get anything that I was satisfied with. What type of lens did you use? What were the settings?

A good picture colours are good and sharp.
a couple of small very sortable problems , the front 2 legs are slightly out of focus but use of sharpen tool and bruntool set very narrow and applied with a soft brush to them only, then the bright area in left corner , tone down with burntool set at about 15 - 20% again a soft edged brush passed over the area might need a couple of passes but do a little at a time.
overall though nice one :0)))))#

Outstanding!!! Fantastic macro shot. Just goes to show that a little patience goes a long way. Well done.

Amazing action here! It is a powerful picture which conveys an emotion of resignation (flower) and contentment (spider).

It is usually hard to make a nice composition in a macro, simply because everything is so small and often out of control. Here you succeeded in all points: nice framing, lightning is surprisingly good (did you use a lateral source of light??), the dark ground highlights the spider, the picture has well matched colours (quite rare for a picture of a spider ;-)) and finally a good sharpness. Overall a well balanced picture.

Awesome! This chap would be a candidate in any "hairy legs" competition ;-) DOF is spot on the face whereas the front legs could use a little sharpening as Robert suggested. I, too, would like to know the settings used, and these can be easily retrieved, if you've installed the Camedia software that came with your camera. Go to "Browse Images", select the original image, click on Properties and select Detail. The interesting information from the list shown are Exposure time and F number. The light source must be natural or external, as the C5050z does not allow flash in Super macro mode.

Superbe macro ! Nous voyons très bien les yeux de la "bête". Les pattes translucides de l'araignée sont très bien rendues. Question :
Avez-vous utilisé un objectif particulier pour cette prise de vue ?
Photo à placer dans un livre de science.
Macro haughtiness! We see very well the eyes of the "animal". The translucent paws of the spider are very well returned. Question:
Did you use a particular objective for this recording?
Photo to be placed in a book of science.
