Photographer's Note
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
- John Muir
I was fortunate to visit the Grand Canyon during a snow storm. While the storm made it difficult to photograph the grandeur of the canyon, I was able to experience the power and beauty of nature as the winds whipped the snow up the canyon and clouds hung down below. As the blizzard was relenting I was able to capture part of the canyon and a faint rainbow, overlooking Indian Gardens on the plateau, with the storm clouds still looming over the canyon. During this storm I was able to experience part of the natural forces that helped to form the canyon, and that itself was an energizing experience.

Unusual staff, very much romantic. Great colors and very good play of light. It is also something sinister in the mood, retained in the frame. Fantastic show of nature in its complexity.
Have a nice day.
