Photographer's Note
This is a photo of a rock formation on the walls of the Antelope Canyon that looks like the famous East Mitten Butte in Monument Valley.
Upper Antelope Canyon, called Tse bighanilini, "the place where water runs through rocks" by the Navajo, is located at 36°51′28″N, 111°22′20″W. It is the most frequently visited by tourists, due to two considerations. First, its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing. Second, beams (shafts of direct sunlight radiating down from openings in the top of the canyon) are much more common in Upper than in Lower. Beams occur most often in the summer months, as they require the sun to be high in the sky.
Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona (around 36°59′N 110°6′W). The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks).

I really like the colors and silhouette effect here. Good details in the textures too. From the amount of shots that show up on TE, this must be an amazing place.

Thanks for adding to my theme (I think it'll be hard to fill). SO I presume photography is forebidden in the canyon, great abstract result, I like the way you've used the dark space.

Hi JC,
I love these colourful rock formation photos of yours and this one is my favourite. The colours and contours are mesmerising. It almost feels like you are staring down the throat of a giant! Great photo, useful note.
Well done and best regards from England,

Hello JC Ramos,
Great lines and colours in your creation. Always a challenge in that location to work around with the constant flow of other visitors.

Hello JC
Antelope Canyon is superb, I like the hues of blues in your capture different to what we usually see here on TE, mostly hues of reds. Composition is good, well done

Very well done. I usually set the white point to get the blue out, but it works very well here. Just shows that there is more than one way to get things done.

Wow, just fantastic! I hope to visit this area within the month for my first time and I'd be lucky to get a shot as well constructed as this one! Regards, Doug
