Photographer's Note
Randsburg is a small mining town in the Mojave Desert. At least, it was a mining town until a couple of years ago when the mine closed, and it will be again, because high gold prices have led to a planned reopening. The main street is an interesting mix--a few buildings have been restored to an "old west" look, and the ones that haven't are old and worn enough to fit right in. Not many tourists pass through, and those that do come tend to be bikers--both the ominous-seeming kind with handlebar moustaches, and the family kind who bring motorbikes and dune buggies to ride the desert's dirt and sand on weekends. The majority of the homes in town seem to still have an outhouse in the back yard. Abandoned cabins--presumably the former homes of miners--dot the surrounding landscape, and beyond that are the wide open spaces of the desert. In my next few postings I'll try to present my view (based on almost no real knowledge, or time spent there) of life in Randsburg.

I like the sepia tone here. The vertical composition works well to include those interesting clouds, and to show us just how far away from anything this place is. Looks like a pretty hot day. What an arid place. Makes me thankful I live where I do.

Although I saw second in the serie at first, but I think you started a very nice informative serie about the place, and also I must say about my wonder about no more comments in this one, too, just two comments before me,...
This matter is not a good things in TE,but this not a special thing just for TE,I think there is a matter like this in another sites, too,I believe that many viewer like to fine attractive shots just for the eyes, with full colors and some special composition and less informative, maybe I'm wrong, that is a difficult thing for discussion,...anyway,...
I like your vertical format and composition, interesting clouds you had in the day that seems be a hot day maybe, still I like this sepia that works nice here,Thanks for sharing,Ken,great one,
Best Wishes
