Photographer's Note
My original b/w posting attracted little attention. So I went back to my ddr and tried a color rendition this time. So... does this work better?
===============================================
Yet another Montana farmhouse abandoned to time and the elements.
Because of the forest fires that were burning in the mountains, the sky had a nasty gray cast on this day. Part of my reason for posting these old house pictures in b/w. It was near high noon and quite hot, the light so harsh that the images taken seem to me to have an "in the oven" sort of feel; so with the long lense used, it's possible to see the heat waves coming off the land. I'm not suree if sharpening has helped or hurt, but here's the result.

Yes Sir! great idea to post it in the color version. I like it. You made the b&w because of the heat waves coming off the land and might have wanted to hide them. But that's the beauty of the present shot, we can FEEL the heat. This little abandoned house really stands out in this version, holding on to life leaning on this little green shrub. Lovely.

The idea is definitely a good one. I posted a workshop with a slightly different perspective.

I defently like this one better. The smoke realy does not help the image though but not much one can do about that issue.

Very nice framing, the smog on the back give a poetic touch to this beautiful picture. Congratulation Ned

I like color version better as well. You can better see the heat waves coming off the land in the color photo and they really add to the forlorn mood of the composition. Those heat waves just didn't look right in the B&W version.

Great subject and composition, regardless a little bit unsharp. I like this picture very much!

I like a lot this sort of photo : a little farmhouse, in the middle of nowhere!
Nice composition and colours.
It's remind me a painting of "impressioniste".
