This is an aerial view of a small part of the Lake Mead.
The lake was named after Elwood Mead who was the commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation from 1924 to 1936 during the planning and construction of the Boulder Canyon Project that created the dam and lake.

Olá Rui,
What an impressive landscape!
This looks like a giant natural amphitheater.
The colour contrast between the red brown arid land and the deep blue water is very strong.
Magnificent how that high steep cliff is reflected in the lake.

Outra grande imagem do deserto de pedra. A cor azul contrasta belamente lago com pedras douradas e vermelhas. Gorgeous cores e nitidez perfeitas.

Hello Rui,
I love the saturated colours in this magnificent landscape. The red rocks and the blue lake are stunning and very nice to have caught the reflection. Is that a boat in the water? If so it really shows the scale of the canyon. Beautiful!

Wow, was browsing through your gallery and saw this one. I must say that this view is really breathtaking! POV is fantastic! So, was this taken inside the chopper too? well, I bet the view was superb up there. Wonderful colors and reflections. The lighting is just exceptional! Great shot!

Very nice reflection in the bright, calm water. The aerial view gives an interesting perspective. Looks like the water level is still way down, it had be just as low at Mt Shasta last fall but it had come up a lot this spring.

I see you have been in a lot of fantastic places this year!
and this is really a fantastic photo rich in textures and strong chromatic contrast. The barren soil of the canyon contrasts wonderfully with the deep blue water of the lake. Very good composition and a strong visual impact image.

A fantastic view from above on a part of the most impressive Canyon. The red/brown rocks contrast and reflect on blue water's. And the crescent shape earth formation in mid-pic. is stunning.
