Photographer's Note
Utah's mountains are full of aspens. This time of year, they all turn a glorious yellow. My kids like to call this particular area "fairy land" with the leaves both in the trees and on the ground adding to create a magical effect.
Since aspens clone themselves and groves are composed of interconnected trees, the trees in a single grove are, technically, one living organism, creating one of the largest and oldest living organisms in the world.

Hi David
Wonderful shot; I've been trying for years getting a capture like this. The yellow leaves and the white trunks are just such a good combination. I thought they were called BIRCHES??
Smart choice abt. exposuretime and F-ratio, I think.
Fairy land, eh? Good name :)
Cheers Frank

Hi David,
Th knots in the wood really look like eyes staring back, and create a magical atmosphere, especially when combined with the dream like light that you caught here. The yellow and white colors also seem quite surreal. Beautiful work to capture a surreal moment in the real world like this.
Cheers

I couldn't believe it when I saw this photo was from "dsidwell." Welcome back David! It's been a long time since you've posted anything here. I love the bright tone of the photo and the soft processing. Lovely effect.
