Photographer's Note

Another photo from the Japanese Garden in the Huntington Gardens. The designers did a great job on this area of the park. It's very interesting visually to walk through, with lots of water sprinkled here and there, along with pagodas and other traditional Japanese architecture.

There's something about this one that makes it very hard to judge distance, in an interesting way. Something about how the stones at the pond's edge and the flowers on the tree branches in FG appear similar through the whole depth perception of the shot out of whack for me, to the point where it looked like the pagoda was actually a lantern hanging from a tree branch in FG as opposed to on the other shore. That's not meant as a criticism, but just as an observation. The shot itself is nicely composed with the tree branch arching over the scene and the mountain in BG, Good sharpness and focus throughout the frame, which also affects the sense of depth, I think.

nice the view as the presentation from this Japanese garden.I like the beauty blossom branches,the characteristic pagoda as the brilliant light and colour management.
