Today, I returned to Booth, after the previous visit a week ago. No luck. The sky was darker, so I didn't have a chance to capture some better shots of the abandoned school. Instead, I found this house, about 50 yards away.

The area was named after Freeman Irby Booth (1866 - 1931) who founded it around 1890, shortly after he bought the surrounding property. According to history, in the early 1890s, Booth went to South Carolina and brought back 30 families to settle his land. Early crops of cotton, corn, and rice were shipped to market via the Brazos River. The local post office opened March 21, 1894. Today, the population of this location is less than 100 people.

I planned to come back again after 2 weeks. Let see if the weather will give me any luck.
