Photographer's Note
The U.S. first lighthouse was in 1792 on the southern end of the entrance to Cheasapeake Bay. It was made of Aquia Creek sandstone, which was also used in the construction of the White House. Its tower is a octangular truncated pyramid rising 90 feet to its light.
Today the public may climb its interior stairs and enjoy the fine view from its observation platform.

Hi Ray,
Nice to see you back on TE. Your gallery is full of pictures from national parks and lately lighthouses. Similar to you I love national parks and lighthouses to visit and photograph. I opened new them "lighthouses around the great lakes".
I like this lighthouse built with bricks in a octangular shape. Lovely pov with the blue sky as a background and good quality picture.
Kind regards,
Zbigniew
