Photographer's Note

To get up close to the very fine Landscape Arch requires a 2.6 kilometer roundtrip stroll on a dirt and rock pathway. Off the path are side trips to Tunnel and Pine Tree arches.
It is best to avoid hiking between 10 am and 5 pm, unless exploring in late autumn and winter. Summer time temperatures can reach or exceed 100 fahrenheit (38 C).
And the National Park Service has a good reason for photographers paying attention to all the elements of "light"..."A photograph is not about an object, it is about light on an object. The best photographic light occurs early in the morning and late in the afternoon, as the lower angle of light goves your subject depth and a greater sense of reality. The warmth of the light deepens the redness of the rock into amazing hues, the very reason this land is often called "color country" or "red rock country"."
