A loving glance, a photo from New York, Northeast

Photographer's Note

I was walking up 8th or 9th Avenue when i spotted this lady and her wee dog.
I cant remember its name, it was a Spanish name i was unfamiliar with but i do remember the wee soul was 15 years old and got pushed up and down by her owner.
A fleeting moment shard by us all.
I was shooting film so i couldn't even show her the result
Minolta X-700 50mm f1.4
I have came full circle and went back to film again (as well as digital)
Now i develop and print it myself trying hard to emulate the greats but failing badly, especially at printing.

Hello John,
This reminds me of old photos from the 1980's or earlier. I can see the affection this woman has for her little dog, and her smile is lovely, but I like all the small details, too. The blurred magazine covers, one with a hat that looks like Mickey Mouse on it, the trash can, the phone booth, all have a bit of a throwback feeling to them. I like it. :-)

Touching daily life shot, with good tech already, especially like the slight bokeh on the background.

This seems to be a comeback of sorts, doesn't it?
Welcome back it is, then!

The kind smile is the winner here, but I also like the background wall, the use of bl/w and the dog. In the picture, don't care much for them in real life :)

Nothing wrong with your bl/w development skills, as far as I can see here. It'll be interesting to see where you go next.

How are you? I remember you here a few years ago but your gallery is gone. What has happened? Anyway, I am glad you are back. Even seen as miniature it is excellent picture. So, you still use the analog camera and film? The result is superb. The old lady loves her old companion. Fleetimng moment memorized by you.
