First Street Green

Time for more street art which we saw during our TE-meeting with Brenda last August. After Freeman Alley, we visited First Street Green Art Park, which is located between Houston Street, First Street and First Avenue in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In this open art park, cultural groups, artists and designers produce murals, sculptures and other artistic performances. The art keeps being renewed and updated, these two murals might not be there any longer.

The mural in the upper half, called “I Choose Love”, was made by Hektad, who calls himself a “New York City graffiti pioneer” on his website. The other one was made by Ramiro Davaro-Comas, an Argentine artist, who lives in Brooklyn. I found this mural on his Instagram account as well and there it seemed its name is “Riding a short feathered woodland cat through the woods with Dad”.
