Down at the edge of Willow Lake I looked up and saw this pine seemingly blown by the contrail far above. It shows how, even in the most inhospitable of locations, life can take root and thrive.
Taken in color, I opted for monochrome when editing as it felt more appropriate.
ISO 200, f/20 at 1/200 second, 120mm focal length

A classic in the making. The lone tree stands out among the rocks as a sentinel as the sun either rises or falls. Well caught with the clouds in the background. super nice.

Hi Mark,
It certainly has an Ansel Adams feel to it. I imagine that when you're in a place like this in the western USA you might think of Ansel Adams when taking photographs, and be inspired by his work. A simple but bold composition, showing the tree growing out of solid rock.
