Photographer's Note

Quietness and indulgence.

Spent the morning making chocolate chip cookies, (the all-American staple sweet food) and finishing off a cup of Kona-blend in my souvenier-from-Hawaii coffee mug. As I was transferring the cookies from pan to cooling tray, I noticed this scene. The silver reflections, the before and after cookies, the kettle and the cup, and a 4-way square with sqare reflections in the bowl, the warm sunlight from the kitchen window. Then I reflected on the warmth of the simple things that make a home. I'm always interested in seeing the homes of others around the world, and especially the warmth of those homes when there is a contented smiling face in the photo. I wish I could share my Saturday morning snack with you all (caution: cookies contain chocolate, nuts, wheat products and 2 kinds of sugar). Maybe munch on the warm stillness of your quiet little chores today, and remember that all around the world are people doing their own thing in their own homes. Just like you. :o) I thank you all so much for sharing your world with me.

I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro to resize this photo for posting to TE, and when I uploaded, it automatically entered the correct date, and the settings you see here for shutter speed and F-stop. I don't remember being so technical; all I did was turn off the flash and set the light to florescent light #1, though the only light is from the window. All comments welcome.
Link to the recipe is on my introduction page. ;o)
