Photographer's Note
Sorry for my long absence here in TE and thank you for the critiques you've given me whilst I was away. I was in San Francisco the last two weeks for the Oracle Open World Conference and took some opportunity to do a little bit of sightseeing. Coming from a smaller city with lots of open spaces, it took me some adjustment in getting used to getting around one of the most densely populated city in the United States... not to mention the herd of tourist traffic. San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 14th populous city in the US.

The POV over the city is interesting in spite of the not so appealing foreground. That little boat just makes an excellent contrasting point in relation to what you say about traffic. Do not drive! Go sailing!!!

Hello Renier,
A fine composition of the City by the Bay. The sloping road makes a good lead-line, more especially with the yacht. Good colours and clarity. Welcome back!

Bonjour Renier,
très beau cliché de cette partie de cette ville immense, tu as réussi à trouver une route déserte qui mène à la mer, nous sommes porté à la suivre du regard avant de voir la ville, belle composition, heureux de te voir de retour.

Hi Renier,
a very offside scene with that unused road and the city line behind. It is a good composition and for sure a new view to such a famous city. Good light and no reason to say sorry, but good you are back.

Hi Renier!
Beautiful photo! Great composition, very interesting from the foreground to the background. Great light managment, too! I just wish that the atmosphere was clearer so we could see even better the city in the background. Anyway, congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Hello Renier,
Beautiful image, with a prospect which gives the impression which the boat is a small-scale model sailing on a basin. Superb framing. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Nice one, Renier, the city skyline is very well balanced by the foreground descending road which is "introducing" the city, great to have that yacht there...

Hello Renier,
I was also in SF for two nights last week for a conference. We could have hooked up. There is good depth in this scene, and that boat looks like a toy. Hope you had a good time. Regards 'Bay. Danilo

Hi Renier,
And welcome back!
A good POV giving a large part to the road (that doesn't look like your typical American road!) leading the eye to the other side of the bay, with the city and its skyline well visible in clear details. Good exposure too.

Renier,
A nice perspective, I like how the FG road lead the eye.
The view on the city in the BG is great, a nice complement to more quiet other elements.

Hi Renier, Great to see you back &, this shot is a very good start for your return, although the path is a little unkempt, the view beyond is superb &, the boat is wonderfully placed, I love the soft blue colour & the high-rises make a great backdrop, the lighting is perfect, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Renier,
Beautiful view of the San Franciscan skyline with its silver skyline contrasting wonderfully with the blue waters of the lovely bay. The charming little sailboat is a very nice element to this fine composition.

Hi Renier
I like the juxtapositioning of the run down looking fg precinct, against the vibrant city centre in the bg. Good colour, sharpness & pov. Good interplay between the 2 walls. Tfs!

Hi Renier,
Not the usual view of SF, but a very nice one, despite the decaying FG, which curiously helps a lot making the great compo. The sailing boat is very well placed and the tranquil mood it gives contrasts with the bustle the big city seen on the BG. I wish you had a better light, because the only thing less great is the pale haziness of the BG and sky.
Regards, José.

Hi Renier,
So you're into this nasty IT as well... lucky Kiwis who don't worry about cut travel budgets and can fly around the world for a conference ;-)
Good it left you some time for sightseeing, SFO area is a very enjoyable place and this winding foreground downwards road is good to introduce the well known skyline view, the boat is added bonus.
Have a nice day, JY

Hello Renier.
Great juxtaposition of the slightly shabby road or footpath and the background of skyscrapers. The yacht makes a perfect focal point and vital highlight, with the path leading the eye to it. Very good compostion indeed.

hey renier,
you very well presented SFO's skycrappers from The Rock's point of view. the cold city by the bay has always been portrayed and fotoed in so many manners and views..this one, i must admit is one great capture. one of the cities that makes california the golden state!

Hi Renier,
From San Francisco we are accustomed to seeing its famous bridge. Then thank you for this sight which leaves the ordinary one. Pretty composition with this road which carries out us on the city. Beautiful management of the light and good natural colors. A photograph interesting, thank you for sharing Renier.
With all my friendships,

Hello Renier
Had missed this one...certainly an original POV of the city. The path provides a good lead-in & the small sail boat is a big plus here. In the BG through the haze we see the spires of the megapolis racing to the sky. Good work!

Hi Renier. Trekking down your gllery I came across this nicely composed shot. Apart from the floating yacht I liked the curving down of the short boundary wall along with the shadow. While this side appears to be calm and quiet, the other side is a concrete jungle (though you can't help it), Well taken. Regards.

I like this kind of photography , not solely the scenery of the city.. a part of the city which reflects people s daily life too . god knows how many couples have walked on this road. I just think a photo with sunset would look great from this point of view
