Photographer's Note
Photo taken from Bartley's Hill, during a quite wild hail storm.
Had the shutter on manual (bulb), left it open long enough to expose some lightning but had to be careful not to overexpose the buildings. If the shutter was open too long without lightning I would close it and re-open it.

Hi Brad,
lucky you were - nice shot.
Its a pity with the trees on the left. Looks a bit strange - like a dark spot.

Nice picture. Thomas is right with the tree, but I guess that if you kept it, it's maybe because there were more trees of the other side. Another thing which would have maybe made this picture even better, would have been to catch more of the city... Did you take more pictures that night?

Great photo. I like the fact that you also capture the city below all the violence!

a great picture, your exposure you got quite right here, any longer and the buildings would be over exposed and maybe there would be too much lightening, any shorter and you dont catch ANY! VERY NICE SHOT if there was a smily worth3 points youd get one here

How did you manage to get such great timing? It cant be just luck. I wish you wrote something about how you took this in your note. Burst mode perhaps? Multi burst mode? Tell us. Its a great pic, with 3 such distinct thunderbolts.

Hi Brad
A good time exposure, with an outstanding result. This type of photography is extremely difficult. I would add to the note that the 2 orange triangles far right, are the Storey Bridge. Well done!

well done! I am amazed by the scene. The way the lightning lights up the clouds above is breathtaking. I might not have included the trees in the lower left of the picture, great job.
