Photographer's Note
Another shot from Melbourne Zoo...
Koalas aren't bears. They aren't even related to bears. The koala is related to the kangaroo and the wombat. The koala is a mammal. The reason the koala is called a koala bear is because the koala looks like a teddy bear. The koala's scientific name is Phasclarctos cinereus.
Now there are only 2,000 to 8,000 koalas in the wild! Although not officially classified as endangered, the population of Australian koalas has dropped by 90% in less than a decade!
This is due to the destruction of the koala's natural habitat, a narrow crescent on the eastern coast of Australia. Logging, agriculture and urban development have not only reduced the area available to them, but added other dangers. The koala's habitat has been criss-crossed by roads, resulting in many road kills and attacks by neighboring pet dogs are frequent. Disease, too, has taken its toll on the koala.

First of all I hope your exams went well ;-)
Beautiful capture of this little chap ;-) Did you use fill flash to get light on both sides of his face? The only thing I can't really make up my mind about is the branch going from right to left in front of him, but nothing much to do about it, it's probably too big to clone out.

Hi Din...I missed your shots. Quite busy in school?
Anyway, this is an adorable picture with excellent colors and good compo. I especially like how you have included that branch of tree at the bottom. Very good shot.

Wonderful shot, Din, with a considerable cuteness factor. A wonderful posing of the koala that has placed himself wonderfully inside the "V" shaped by the two branches. Excellent color and light setting, great catch.

Great photo Din, he looks so cuddly. Lovely colouring and he really looks interested in you. I suppose forest fires have also had a hand in the koalas destruction. Pleased to see he isn't being called a bear as he's a marsupial I believe - which is one of a few bits of information which has stuck since my far off school days!
