Photographer's Note
ENGLISH: I was working in the Upper Hunter Valley during winter. One day I took a stroll around the little town of Morpeth near Maitland. I was inspired to take this photo by the photography of Nobu (nobuikehonda). Here is an example: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/France////photo1320166.htm
So I dedicate this photo to my friend Nobu.
ITALIANO: Si tratta di Morpeth un paesino al costiera centrale di Nuovo Galles del Sud. Le foto di Nobuikehonda mi ha ispirato. Quindi, dedico questa mia foto al mio amico Nobu.

Ciao Lisa
Good use of a shallow dof to catch the text with superb sharpness. Well controlled lighting with soft pastel colours. Tfs!

Fine reflection, Lisa.
Perfect how the town mirrors on glass, good light prevailed.
I must admit this bakery has an almost "Royal" sign on it's window. Fabulous.
Have a nice weekend,
Ike

Ma chère Lisa, (May I ?)
Lisa, You mustn’t dedicate your photo to someone like myself. Why are you so extremely modest with your capacity? I feel like hiding somewhere if I could find a hole large enough, but I thank you.
The photo is super, I think the image is very strong and the reflection is so clean. I can’t achieve this level of clarity with what I do. I see something delicious sitting inside the store. (I am very happy that someone is enjoying what he does or she does.) I can see a very feminine touch in your photo. This too is something that I cannot achieve with my senses. I cannot accept credit for this kind of image. It’s almost like a stroke of a brush. Each person has his or her way to draw a line on a sheet of paper. And they are all different. And they are all very personal and nice in his or in her way. I love the air of the small town and this shop window. I can even see a person sitting on a bench across the street. It is a tiny detail but it gives life to an image. It activates and brings warmth to your image. I think it is a very lovely photo, Lisa. I must congratulate you. I must thank you once again for this precious gift. I will treasure it for always.
With my very personal gratitude,
Have a very pleasant evening, Lisa
Amitié,
Nobu.

Lisa
A poor critiquer of late - sorry ! Truth is, apart from catching up this week with overdue posts for our last Meet, I hardly make time for TE at all.
But this caught my eye this morning ( we're neighbours ! ); its appearance has overtones of long exposed night seascapes, so it had to be yours !
Neat, clever image, great clarity and composition. It works, and I like it !
And the sunshine ... oooohhhh !!!
have a good w/e, well Sunday as it happens !
kind regards
Martin

Hello Lisa,
Great use of depth of field to capture the sign and isolate it from the shop window and the reflections but still retain everything in context. Hope the 'lurginess' is abating, a couple of glasses of red should help:-)

Hi Lisa,
A lovely picture - and nice to see you back - I hope you have now made a full recovery from your 'flu' and are now feeling better, watching the rugby with a nice big glass of vino.
This picture is very intriguing - the clear and strong motif on the window of the baker's shop, the reflections of houses across the road but also, interestingly, the reflection of another "Morpeth Sourdough" sign obviously hanging from a frieze around the shop. Lovely soft colours and reflections which allow me to peer into that interesting shop window and admire the goods on offer.
I do hope that you went in and sampled some of the wares? Sourdough bread is real bread, none of your modern tasteless stuff!
Lovely!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I shall now have to go look at some of Nobu's piccies!

Ciao Lisa,
J'aime beaucoup les reflets de la rue que l'on peut voir par la fenêtre du pâtissier qui semble un brin solennelle pour le produit vendu.
Bon weekend

Hi Lisa
Great image taken of one of the showcase windows at this famous bakery, showing all the goodies there. You must have stood as obliquely away to minimize the reflection in the image frame, & one can see the 2 storey building, a car, lamp pole and tree branches running across the road. A superb shot, I love the reflections and the shadows and you have done really well to avoid getting in the picture, and you did well without the reflections overpowering the subjects inside. Wonderful colour and detail, excellent composition and control of the reflected images. Well done, Congrats
Best regards

And shes back!
great to have you around again.
Hope you're feeling ok and you have your strength back.
TE isn't the same without you, like the Stanley Park Sea Wall without its man-bladers!
you come back with a dedication to Nobu, i'm sure he appreciates that.
I don't often look at shop windows for photos, but maybe i'll have to change my tune a bit.
you've created a 2 for 1 photo.
and you've also made me hungry!
thoughtful dedication, nice photo for your return.
cheers

hi lisa,
a lovely scene well seen! its three pictures in one. the text on the glass is sharp and acts like an outer layer or a piece of wrapping paper. the second picture is the scene inside the shop, food. the third layer and the extra depth comes from the reflections on the glass - the town with its characteristic houses.
regards,
brian
ps. best wishes for the quarter final later. we're all crying into our cups of tea here.

Hello Lisa,
You are right. This does have a Nobuesque quality with reflections and refractions. The eclectic sample of pastries suggests this is a distinctly high end bakery. It's a very appropriate tribute to our friend Nobu.
Warm regards,

Beautiful capture and framing, Lisa, and yes, it is very Nobuesque! These reflection shots are so difficult and this one is so nice with the bright gold lettering against the darker trees, surrounded by the pale. I like the tree shadow on the street as well. Now if I only had some of that sourdough...yum!
