Photographer's Note
Another photo of snow in Australia. This mountain is Mt Bogong, the highest peak in Victoria, 1986 metres high. I easily remember this number because the first time I saw Mt Bogong was in the year 1986. The photo was taken from Mt Porepunkah near Bright, at the end of winter on a beautiful sunny day. A dirt road goes all the way to the summit of Mt Porepunkah, where there is a grand view in all directions.

Bonjour, cher Vincent,
Qui pourrait croire qu'il existe des monts enneigés en Australie ! Et pourtant, la vérité est là sous nos yeux éberlués.
Une très belle image (instructive, en plus).
Amitiés.

Hello Vincent
a good method to remember the numbers. Of course, if you remember in which year you were there for the first time. When I want to check when I was somewhere, I look at my gallery on TE :). I wouldn't guess it is Australia. Beautiful composition.

Hello Vincent,
If you want to demonstrate how to create a fine sense of depth, this is how to do it!
The branches anchor the f/g and then the horizontal layers, of different textures and different hues, take us succinctly from f/g to b/g.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Vincent,
The bogong moth spends Autumns & winters in south Qld and returns to the Australian Alps in Spring and summer. An impressive view of the snowcapped peak, at least by Australian standards, from this elevated vantage point. Good sharpness and aerial perspective too. Tfs!

Hi Vincent,
beautiful panoramic view of the Australian mountains. I like the multiple horizontal layers with the final layer decorated with the snow.
Nice that you included the tree branches anchoring the view in the foreground. It makes a pleasant natural framing.
Excellent work,
M

Hello Vincent,
A beautiful view of the snowy mountains in the distance. The gentle slopes in the foreground and their dense forests look great as well, just as the closest trees, which add depth.

Hi Vincent
I think it's easy to become obsessed with this snow mountain. Its size and scale in relation to the green surrounding area are quite extraordinary, taken from your best vantage point. To wake up each morning to the sight of this wondrous mountain is awe inspiring - a sleeping giant!

Hi Vince
I must add Mt Porepunkah to my list of places to visit on one of my trips to Victoria. A good photo of My Bogong with the foreground trees helping give good depth of field.
Does Mt Bogong get invaded every summer by Bogong moths like the Kosciuzko area? Given the names I guess it just might.
cheers

Hello Vince,
Wonderful panorama with the successive mountain ridges of which the last is the highest and covered with snow.
The branches on the foreground create good depth in the photo.
Best regards, Paul
