In the hills and ridges around the Flinders Ranges you can see the result of geological forces that formed the hills. Extensive "folding" of the earth's surface took place in the region and you can clearly see the layers of rock at all sorts of angles, sometimes straight like in the hills in this photo and sometimes in waves as in the WS. You can see horizonal layers in the distant hills in the main photo.
