Photographer's Note
The call of the Laughing Kookaburra is unmistakable. Loud and very much like a person laughing manically, they often join in once one of them starts off.
they can become quite tame around people, this one certainly was. I found him/her in the Grampians national park near a popular waterfall, and also near where one of his friends swooped down and stole a muesli bar right out of my hand when I wasn't looking.

Hello Stephen,
great title for your picture - I had to laugh too, even before reading the name of the bird. Nice portrait of the bird with perfect focus on the eye.
Best regards

Hi Steve,
You have done a great job here. Its perfectly sharp and extremely detailed. I can even count the feathers and see the reflection in his eye! The laughing bird is well posed for this shot. I ve got a couple of shots of this bird earlier in June at Dandenong Ranges, and I dare not even think about posting it after looking at this.
It is simply superb.

Hi Steve, very nice shot of this lovable character. Colour & detail are excellent. He is not laughing here but to me he sure looks like he is smiling, he may just be thinking about the muesli bars.
Cheers

Hello Steve,
Nice...........bird.
No really the shot is very clear and crisp. The colors are very nice and match the mood of the shot. You must have had a close brush with the museli bar.
Thanks for sharing

Don't you just love the way they contract their neck and stick their chest feathers out a little. I think this one must have been the same one that stole a cheese kransy of my plate right in front of me even as i had my knife and fork in my hand when I was camped in the Grampians. LOL
Barry
I love the evil look in its eye. Well captured.
