Kuata Island, a photo from Western, South

Photographer's Note

Kuata island is the most southerly island in the Yasawa chain, northwest of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu. Being in such a position means that these islands are in the lee of the big island, and as such are dry and sunny most of the time.
The photo was taken from Wayasewa Islands highest point, Vatu Vula (349m).
On the horizon can be seen the Mamanuca group of islands
The man in the photo was our guide for the climb here from the resort below, Wayalailai. This resort was where i learned to scuba dive, extremely cheaply. During my lessons, i was taken down the wall that drops steeply off Kuata island, and can just be seen beneath the waves in this photo.
The location here is spectacular, and photos really don't do this place justice.
I still congratulate myself for getting here, i'm sure you'd do the same!

Brilliant Bird's eye view of the island..
the blue and green mixed nicely in the image..
I think you can crop a little part on the
bottom of the image..

Let me join you in congratulating yourself for getting there, it's a fabulous spot indeed. The island fits into the frame just great, and I like how it is surrounded by the wonderful blue sea. Also it's very nice how at the horizon, some more islands - partially hidden behind haze - can be spotted. The guy sitting on the rock in the bottom left corner and enjoying the view is a great addition. Good sharpness and contrast. Fine job, Steve.
