Photographer's Note
This is my first posting of a panorama, hope it comes out OK.
Taken from the highest point of Kelvin Heights Deer Park looking over Lake Wakatipu towards Cecil Peak and Walter Peak.
Not everyday I was in NZ it rained and this was a glorious day.
There are numerous tour companies that offer a guided tour to the deer park for NZ$75 per person, but with a little research I found that you can drive there yourself. It took about 10 mins to get there from Queenstown and at the entrance you pay NZ$20 for a car not per person and you get a free map with the interesting points to visit in the park. Great savings and you can spend as much time as you like wherever you like. The gravel track is manageable even in the little rental car that I had.
When you get to the top you get a 360 degree view all around the Queenstown area. This is one of them. There are a number of areas within the park where they shot scene's for the Lord of the Rings movie and also an old filmset of a Chinese Prison camp from The Rescue movie. Apart from the scenery to be enjoyed there are also many animals to feed who are really friendly if not a little pushy.
This was a great day!

HI Jude
Very beautiful panorama that opens a very wide angle, I like this hanging cloud if I remember correctly Aotearoa (NZ maori name) means the island with the long white cloud...
Have a nice day JY

Hello Jude,
I appreciate much the format with normal dimensions and the increased format. I would have liked to see this beautiful landscape even larger. Very beautiful colors, from the fantastic point of view and framing. congratulations.
Have a nice day

Hi Jude,
a spectacular panorama of the lake, great job of stitching photos together, colors are beautiful and vivid, clouds and brownish strip in the foreground are both a strong addition to the composition.
Water of the lake looks like a mirror surface and serves as a excellent foundation for the mountains.
Very well done!

Hello Jude,
Now you got me here, because this is a pov were i've not been, matter of fact i never heard of it..!!! The road below near the water is the one to Glenorchy? That road i have taken to that little village, also on a perfect bright day. Funny part is i'm just working on that picture in panoramic format, will see if i can post that one in a few weeks.
Your stitching and presentation is wonderful, the long white cloud, great shot to show New Zealand in all his glory. But also the light, the clarity, it all works wonderful here....you did very well here....finally some sunny weather ;-)
Kind regards,
Henk

Hi Jude
Totally under-rated picture at the moment. A flawless stitch and by Jesus, finally some excellent weather for you. I remember this view from 2003, the blue gives of this cool breeze view and that low lying cloud is top notch. You have brightened up the New Zealand pages here on TE with your travelogue, now I have to go out myself and get some more of NZ for myself, probably start teaming down with rain this weekend :-)
Regards
Jim

Congratulations, your first large post is a cracker, well done.
The blue sky with the low cloud running across the mountains is fantastic.
