Photographer's Note

This view looks up to Mt Sefton (3151 metres) from a track that goes along the Hooker Valley. The mountain forms a wall of rock and ice rising up to the sky. The pile of boulders in the foreground is glacial moraine left behind by the Hooker Glacier. The Hooker Valley Track is very popular these days (too popular), especially among Chinese tourists. It's best to do it early in the day, before the tourist buses arrive (you can tell I don't like crowds).
