*Breaking ice*, a photo from Santa Cruz, South

Photographer's Note

Perito Moreno in South Argentina is a must for those who love blue and nature... Looking at the big walls of ice ( 60 meters higt and 4 kilometers from side to side) when it is breaking down is just amazing...

Today on august 24th I desided to make a workshop for this picture... I do it to show that the black background IS NATURAL... I would never make it my selves without telling it... Makes me a bit sad that someone don't seem to belive my... Ina...

What is striking is the noise it makes when breaking down. It's just something unique. I love the blue tone of your shot. it seems a bit unreal. Our planet is sometimes so strange!

Very stunning colors. This is very inspiring for the next vacations ..
How did you achieve the black background on top? I am not realy convinced about it. It adds some heavyness to the picture. But when cropped away, something is lacking.

Hi Ina,
Majestic shot of the warming up of the earth. That blue ice is a beautifull subject for a picture. It shouldn't happen to often though. But what can we do? See for the same glacier from a different angle the picture of capthaddock on:

I love the colour blue you have captured here and the rugged texture and the deatil of the falling piece.The sky behind looks so dark which contrasts nicely with the paler tones of the sea.Nice clear details throughout.Thanks for share

I can nearly hear the avalanche coming down with it's sound of cracking ice and water splashing.

You are a very lucky person to be in the right place in the right time!

I am not sure about the black background; thought: 'selfmade'. But you say it's another mountain - ok ;)

This place is very famous. I like your photo cause it takes the moment the ice in becoming to go down. These colors are fantastic, there is some strange blue-light inside the ice. FAbulous
