Apolobamba Child, a photo from La Paz, North

Photographer's Note

This child we encountered on our Apolobamba Expedition. It was in the second, southern part, to the south of the small village of Pelechuco.

It is in a high mountain valley, on our way to Chaupi orco base camp she is living with her family. That day both her parents were gone working and she was alone to look after the herd of llamas.

J'aime ce portrait. L'enfant vit sa vie pendant le temps de la photo. Pensif, il ne se préoccupe pas du photographe. Les couleurs et la lumière sont très belles. Amitiés. Grazyna.

hello, brent

a wonderful portrait of this kid. maybe a tad too centered for my taste, but i can agree with your triangular capture too. the expression in his face is priceless. these boys and girls get the tough life school starting very early...

the poor kid looks frost-bitten though. look at his cheeks and the hand. :(
