Bolivian Highlands – Lake Titicaca

When I remember back these many flights I’ve taken in the past, there is nothing else than the spectacular views of the world below the airplane that remain in my memory; views which we are not able to see from the ground.

Enjoy the view of the world outside the airplane window as I've seen and captured it with my camera.

I’ve taken this photo during the flight from Lima to La Paz (on board of Taka International Airlines Airbus 320 airplane) from an altitude of appr. 10,000m a.s.l., but only 6,000m above ground level.
You can see a Bolivian Highlands and part of famous Lake Titicaca.

The Bolivian (Andean) Highlands are characterized by high poverty and a fragile ecosystem. Located at above 3,700m a.s.l., they are some of the very few areas in the world where agriculture is practiced at such high altitude.

Lake Titicaca is located in Andean Highlands between Bolivia and Peru at an altitude of 3810 m a.s.l. Lake Titicaca is one of the most fascinating lakes in the world, a sacred place for the Inca civilization, as the Incan mythology says that the first Inca king, Manco Capac, was born here. According to the Incan mythology, this is the place where the world was created from, when the god Viracocha came out of the lake and created the sun, the stars and the first people.
