Photographer's Note

One of the main attractions of Salvador, the Pelourinho is the essential roadmap for tourists who come to the state capital.
The "Pelourinho square" in front of the “Casa Jorge Amado” (Jorge Amado Museum House) and the City Museum.

This site was the scene for clips and movies, like
They Do not Care About Us - Michael Jackson clip featured cameo Olodum

and the film “Dona Flor e Seus dois Maridos” «Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands».

this place reminds me so much of some towns in Chile, very similar indeed.
I enjoy this low pov, it makes me feel as if i'm sitting or standing right there on the street myself.
the wide angle is good at delivering that experience sometimes.
very cool inner city shot.

A very pleasant image of this quaint city, full of colour and charm. I like the way you have accented the steep grade in the road with a low POV, providing a wide and deep view of the street. The nice saturated colours are enhanced by the overcast sky and really make this shot. Well done.

Bela foto desse famoso lugar de Salvador!
Uma pena que atualmente não o têm tratado muito bem!
Estive aí pela primeira vez em 2008 e adorei a arquitetura, porém detestei o assédio de vendedores que chegaram a ser rudes! Espero que tenha melhorado!
Nitidez, exposição, cores, formato horizontal e, principalmente, ponto de vista baixo e composição são excelentes!

Olá Rui,
este punto de vista tan bajo, al nivel del suelo, da un gran resultado en la foto, por su profundidad de imagen y la perspectiva de la calle.
El pavimento de piedras ocupa una gran parte del encuadre, con un fuerte grafismo, y la bonita arquitectura de las casas de colores añade potencia visual y cromática a una bella composición.
Buena foto.

Hello Rui,
I like how the cobbled street has become such an important part of this photo taking the whole foreground thanks to the chosen POV. The colorful houses on both sides of the street are absolutely picturesque and it would be amazing to walk along them and discover what is at the end of this lane.

in questa fotografia mi piace in maniera particolare la cura che hai riposto nella composizione.
La particolare pendenza della strada e il risalto che hai dato al piano stradale insieme alla bella successione delle case dà luogo ad una composizione di particolare eccellenza.
Straordinari anche i colori delle case che rendono il soggetto di notevole interesse.
Una bella cattura eseguita e valorizzata in maniera eccellente.

Great post, great picture. I didn't know MJ collaborated with Olodum!! Still find it very weird, but the clip is most intriguing. In fact I'm quite surprised at how white MJ looks...strange, strange... Apparantly I've missed out on things. Story of my life, haha! (Saw Olodum a while ago, though...)

Fine low cobblestones pov. good idea + it works.
