Photographer's Note

It was summer! It was sunday! It was a sunny day! The crowd has gone to the beach and the beach's name is "Praia Mansa". This is probably the most crowded day of the year at Caiobá, because it was "carnaval" holiday. The next sunday after this one it was possible to count the folks at this beach and now in april you will probably count them with your hand's fingers, because almost nobody lives there. See this beach without crowds here and here, and here. Caiobá is a little locality where the people have their summer houses, and the sunday at "carnaval" is a special day when many folks come just to party.
I confess that I really don´t like crowds like this. I prefer much more the quiet, virgin, secluded beaches. The reveillon and carnaval holidays are moments to the crowds, and I took this picture from a balcony far from there, with a 300mm lens. The same beach, in front of my place, was very different, just because there isn´t food and drink available, facilities that are commom to the ending tip of the beach, teh corner where most of the folks are day users visiting Caiobá just for the carnaval sunday.

Hello Jose. Wow what a wonderful summer photo capture from a tall perspective. I hope you don't get lost in crowds this big. I don't think I have ever been at a crowded beach this large. Nice capture.

Hola Zeca.
Your high POV captured a great panoramic view of the crowded beach, this is like here in Dominican Republic, next week is what we call Semana Santa and is when the local people start going to the beach all over the island and the beaches gets very crowded.
Very good colors, sharpness and light.

Haha, looks like Holland when we have a day of summer during the sumemr months. All people get crazy here and go to the beach were it is over-crowded, just like this. They look like ants, but very colourful ones. i like it, not being there, but in the way you captured all this....excellent.

Oh dear :))) I thought you only had empty beaches ... just kidding. A summer day in Zuerich shows similar crazyness at our lakes but it seems some people want to be close to each other. LOL. What a funny picture, makes me smile ... and shake my head a little too, I rather stay at home in such a case but sometimes you cannot avoid these things. Oh well, I do like this image. What I like about is the curving shoreline forming a dividing line and breaking up the mass of people. I think without the curving shore there would be no central focus to the image. I also like the little points of bright color. Well seen and presented.

Hi, Jose. What I like in your picture is the large variety of colours in such a tiny place. They stand out well against the sand. It's also amazing to see that there are almost no colours in the water, which makes the contrast amazing. There is also a nice curve crossing the image from corner to corner.

This is very well presented scenerio of the sunday crowd at the beach and you have found a superb POV to show such interesting scenario. Normally TE photographers wish to shun crowds but in this case, the people spotted beach view is a very good capture from the high angle and using good natural light to show the curved shoreline.

Olá Zeca, confesso que tal como tu também não me daria prazer estar ali em baixo, mas gosto muito do resultado desta foto. É sem dúvida uma praia bem mais viva do os links que nos dás a espreitar :) Até imagino os sons desta gente toda junta no mesmo pedaço de areia. Gosto muito do multicolorido dos fatos de banho e dos reflexos dourados na areia.

I like the tight framing, containing so much life and color. The photo seems to be divided into three parts: the people on the sand under the umbrellas, the people walking along the edge of the water, and those who are swimming. It makes an interesting mix of activities to study.

isso e praia cheia? Voce ja foi ao Rio durante o verao? Vai la em Ipanema, Leblon, Barra no domingo e voce nao vai nem conseguir sacar a sua camera de tanto gente. Na verdade voce nem vai ver a areia mas somente um corpo deitado do lado do proximo.
Belo efeito de compressao com essa lentezinha 300mm. Essa cena da aquela saudade de tempo de praia. Pois e, California tem muita praia mas e tudo gelado! Brrrr

Merveilleuse photo de plage mais un peu trop de monde à mon goût, j'aime çà un peu plus tranquille, peut-être à cause de mon âge... C'est beau à voir tous ces gens et j'aimerais savoir combien la plage a de kilomètres de long. Belle présentation et superbe panoplie de couleurs.

E dificil encontrar um lugar na praia! Gostei muito da foto os tons de azul escuro do mar contrasta bem com os maios e sombrinhas coloridos. Um otimo zom, nesta praia lotada. Tb sou do seu time, prefiro so observar de longe ja que nao gosto de lugares cheios.
