Photographer's Note

In the XIXth century, thousands of italians came to Brazil, with the promisse from both Governs that they would arrive here and instantly win some land and some money. Reality was much harder for them. They had to climb mountains searching for a land where rocks were in majority. There was almost no earth to cultive. Fighting against all this, they built huge cities, maintained they culture and became a great society. This house is one of the first built at Bento Goncalves, and is today a restaurant that serves a delicious italian food.
