Largo 13, meio-dia, a photo from Sao Paulo, Southeast

Photographer's Note

Today I went to "Largo 13" the core of Santo Amaro, my district. Santo Amaro gathers 5 million souls, most of them expatriated from their places in the northeastern region of the country.
Largo 13 is downtown for us. If you who are looking for a good LV purse or a needle or a penguim to put on your fridge, Largo Treze is the place for you!
In my case, today I was looking for a certain pair of black slippers, no. 41/12, with the brazilian flag on it. The lady at one of the dozens slippers booths told me they´ll arrive 'next week'...
Walking among labirynths of stands, music playing outloud, that place for people who has Attention Deficit Disorder (like me) is just fantastic ;))
After all, I came back home with these colors from my place. Who is afraid of experimenting under a midday light? hehe not me ;)

Gosto imenso do ambiente de arraial nesta sua foto. As cores estao lindas e as sombras no chao ficaram otimas ( e ajuda a mostrar o pormenores da calcada).
Linda luminosidade.
O que adoro nas suas fotos e que transmite sempre uma atitude de felicidade mesmo em cenas quotadianas.

Bonita composição, gosto da proximidade das pessoas se movimentando debaixo da sombra dos guarda-sóis coloridos. Como sempre, muita criatividade. Parabéns

Wow, what a great, great shot Isabelle. The umbrellas over the shadows makes a very good effect. I like to see this "opening" in the middle of the picture like I was walking in. Thanks for sharing and sorry about your shoes.

Lovely colors with the umbrellas. You have such a good knack for capturing interesting scenes such as this. I like the man's shadow as well. I think though this could have been cropped removing almost half of the bottom (which would remove the shadow I like) but I had to keep scrolling up and down to see the picture and just really wanted to focus on the umbrellas. I did a quick workshop just cropping it and dodging the central subjects face a bit and added a frame. Hope you don't mind, let me know what you think.

Love the way the light comes through the umbrellas, and a good idea to leave the shadows very dark, making the people a bit anonymous, and emphasising the brightness of the main subject. Why are they all the same?

in other places of the world there are big pieces of material in between buildings as sun covers.

still the flea markets seem to be the same in every part of the world. incredible to see them in same shape even here. only the people are diffrent

Oi Isabel, how is it possible that I missed this one? Love the bussle and the strong contrast here and for sure all these bright parasols. Hehehe this will certainly take me thru the Havaianas-less period :-). Thanx for this!

É, não tem jeito...guarda-chuvas, guarda-sóis sempre serão formas interessantes na fotografia...pelo menos na minha opinião...e na contraluz então, é show! e vc mostrou como dá pra pra explorar esse tema de forma interessante mais uma vez, porque aqui a cor dos guarda-sóis é o que fica, as pessoas passam a ser meros coadjuvantes da cena. muito boa
