Photographer's Note
Brasil is the 2nd country in the world which has the highest number of plastic surgery. Figures go up to hundreds of thousands per year.
In our hedonistic and nihilistic culture, physical beauty is somehow mandatory.
Thus, also billboards sometimes have a strong sexual appeal. this one is about a mobile phone.
seen at Marginal Pinheiros, near Cidade Universitária bridge. taken from the car, traffic wasn´t thaaaat stuck ;)
critiques, comments appreciated :)
played with brightness/contrast, cropped a bit on the left, sharpened (not the best though), resized, added frame, saved for the web.

I like this a lot. The movement in the photo doesn't bother me, in fact, I think that is what makes this shot. Great colors, good composition, good note. Well done!

Very nice shot. Although it is a little bit motion blurred the feeling is wonderful.
I like the contrast between the dark sky and the light board.
Very well done!

Interesting picture. The color contrast and motion blur bring the topic accross. Another good picture "on-the-move" Isabel.

Another time I enjoyed looking at your pictures. It's very creative. Your colors are always amazing. I am not sure though if I like the billboard being so out of focus. I like very much the idea behind this image.

An add like that wold probably raise (Beep) in Sweden. Discussions on TV with a pannel and everything. It's an intresting note. I must say, mobile phone was not the first thing that came i to my mind when looking at the add. Body lotin, yes, that would work :) Anyway, it's a great cath Isabel. I like the combination of dark blue and pale yellow. The blur is working but i wonder what it would look like if it was sharp though.

why did you take it out of focus... this would have looked good sharp, as the composition is fine. But to me the blur conveys a lack of understanding or confusion; it doesn't make sense that people want to have surgery to look better, yet they do.... I like how the only sharp part is the light paths which we can't see the source for, just as we can't see personality, beauty is skin deep? Great shot, thought provoking.

Another nice streetscene, Isabel. I like the colours and the blur and the deliciously vicious utility lines. They provide a nice contrast with the smooth lines of the body in the add. That contrast and the blur transmits your cultural message nicely. Well done.

This is a very good photo Isabel! The criss-crossing of wires are very moody and slighly ominous (like a spider-web) and the very dark blue suits it well. And the wires carry the power to the billboard, and of course this kind of advertising is all part of the spiders web that thrives on angst and insecurity promoting plastic surgery and superficial beauty.
Oh - I'm ranting, at least your photo is very beautiful too.
