Photographer's Note

taken half an hour ago at the courtyard near my house.
next weekend, a big 'junine party' (sorry for the neologism;)) will take place there and people will dance and big bonfires will be lit... little colorful flags will be hung around and an especific music will be played.
in brazil, during june, at least 3 saints from the catholic church are celebrated in those junine parties: St. Anthony (13th), St. John (24th) & St. Peter (29th). also, a delightful beverage made of sugar cane and ginger is served: "quentão" (pronounce something close to /kentawn/).
the brazilian flag is being painted on the ground where people will dance.

not much pp: cropped, played with curves, added border, resized, saved for the web.
the foot is not red. the guy has walked on red paint ;)

Ohh - great use of color, composition, cropping, the works. Seeing the photo while the color is still filled in, is an amusing and interesting piece of meta-photography.

Ah Isabel, se você tivesse um dia visto as festas dos santos populares (sim, os mesmos que você vem de mencionar) em Lisboa e no Porto, decerto iria adorar.

A sua fotografia é como de costume excelente. Se não fosse o azul, seria sómente a bandeira brasileira. Assim é o Brasil à volta do mundo..

Wonderful shot, Isabel, so colorful adn well lit. I like the spot of the Brazilian flag colors on his shirt and on his foot. Colors are stuning and the contrast is excellent. Composition, above all, is superb. Very very well done.

I like the way you crop Isa. You are not afraid to break the norm. If the head does not do anything for the picture, then chop it off ;)

Balançado, de um lado o pintor e do outro Aqua Cryl. Verdadeiramente pintam o solo ou é papel ou madera isso? Eu me pergunto de onde vem a cor vermelha do pé se a bandeira não o tem? Cores muito intensas.

I like the pix in this very strong mixed colour setting, with lines and curves in a good balance. The red foot is great as a contrast. The cropping is artifical and well done. The paint bucket is a fine detail for the total here - filling in the pix. Very good Isabel

É engraçado como somos patriotas, como gostamos de mostrar o nosso símbolo nacional com orgulho... Aqui não é o mesmo, nem com o Euro... O Filipão teve que dar um banho de patriotismo e pedir para cada casa ter uma bandeira nas janelas para nos unirmos em torno da seleção...
