Photographer's Note

View of the city of São Thomé das Letras after the sunrise shown in a previous picture. In the background, the towers of the Mother Church; in the foreground, the famous "Bar of 2", where we can always watch a show of Ventania, who lives in the yellow house to the right. The picture was taken from the Pyramid House.

It was in this city that the singer Raul Seixas acquired a piece of ground and his dream was to create the Alternative Society there, a society in which the only law was: "do whatever you want to; everything will turn to be the Law's".

Interessante a foto, ainda com sombra no vale ao pé das montanhas. Eu teria tentado tirar a foto uns 20 minutos mais tarde, para ver o efeito da luz solar no vale.

Olá Alexandre,

curiosa fotografia. O que achei bem interessante é aquele camada de luz ao fundo contrastando com um primeiro plano sobre a sombra. A igreja também fica como um interessante ponto focal. Parabéns!

Tinha-me escapado a foto do Ventania:)! Interessante a foto e o local. Gosto da luz do sol a reflectir nas montanhas ao fundo e do primeiro plano, com as torre amarelas da igreja a sobressairem entre o casario.

Creio que conseguiste uma foto muito linda com o sol a começar a iluminar a cidade. A igreja ficou muito bem e toda a imagem tem uma definição muito boa.

não é atoa que o pessoal começa a ver coisas neste lugar, o céu e a distância do horizonte permite que viajemos na maionese. linda foto, a zona de sombras sobre a cidade fez um ótimo contraste com a zona iluminada ao longe. bom enquadramento, a igreja muito bonita e bem colocada na cena. belo trabalho

qué imagen tan profunda y tan limpia, que nos lleva la mirada muy lejos en este bonito paisaje.
Me gusta el efecto producido por el sol que ilumina el fondo de la imagen, mientras la ciudad con su interesante arquitectura ya está en la sombra, en una correcta gestión de la luz.

Ótima perspectiva. Interessante como hjá várias camadas bem definifas: pedras, casa, montanhas com sombra, montanhas sob o sol e uma outra linha de montanhas mais atrás ainda. Não vi nenhum disco voador, talvez eles estejam ficando invisíveis.

nice presentation of the city of São Thomé,with a good management of the difficult lighting conditions.I like the existence of the bell towers of the Mother Church,as the light that falls on the far end and contrast perfect with the whole dark side of the shot.Well done.

The church stands out so well in the composition, blessed as it is with the fine light!
The strong foreground creates fine depth in the frame, I notice how the early morning sun is touching the landscape in the background...

Fine exposure management for this picture as we see the BG bathed in sunlight while the majority of the picture is in shade. It seems that the Fg is made of slate stone given the texture. The towers of the Mother Church dominated the view IMO. Good post and also thanks for the links

uma vista muito bonita mesmo essa, de um local maravilhoso, mas muito mal cuidado em minha opinião, em grande parte por culpa desses pseudo-hippyes-de-apartamento-da-zona-sul, que só sabem fazer sujeira e fumar maconha... estragam a cidade...

Olá Alexandre,

Lindo panorama da cidade ao amanhecer. A serra, ao fundo, já está iluminada. Se o Raul Seixas voltasse hoje, ia se sentir meio deslocado. Seu visual, sua música, nada mais seria chamativo. A loucura é normal na nossa sociedade, que aceita qualquer comportamento, postura, falta de ética...
A cidade é encantadora e a imagem está linda, maravilhoso contraste de cores.
