The next Sunday will be the second Sunday of May, so this is the "MOTHER'S DAY" for many countries.
I found this photo in my archives to post here and celebrate all the mothers of the world. They care about us, even when we are not children anymore. Thank you!

C'est toujours surprenant pour nous, européens, de voir des gens sur la plage au mois de Janvier!!
Une très bonne réalisation tout en ombre chinoise sur cette mère et son enfant et une belle façon de leur rendre hommage.

Olá Zeca,
Bela homenagem às mães do mundo inteiro. Mais um contra-luz no seu portfólio, outra foto difícil. Aqui, não abriria mão de um nd grad para balancear toda essa luz no céu e mar, mas o resultado final é muito bom. A perspectiva da sua composição está ótima, pois equilibra toda a informação entre o terço superior e inferior, com uma diagonal para quebrar a pasmaceira: mãe contemplativa e ciosa no terço direito inferior, olhando para o pimpolho absorto com o sacolejo das ondas, no terço esquerdo; a linha do mar diagonal, que separa regiões de positivo e negativo de modo bem dinâmico (pimpolho na região superior, do mar agitado, mãe na região inferior, de areia); a excelente moldura criada pela silhueta das árvores, bem bucólica e eficaz em quebrar a homogeneidade do céu; a esquadra de silhuetas de barcos; o fundo de serrania e stratocumulus, tipicamente florianopolitano. Um quadro mesmo.
Do ponto de vista da qualidade da imagem, acho que falta o nd grad para aumentar saturação, contraste, cor e equilibrar a luz, vc já sabe e não quer mais ouvir o chato aqui. Do jeito que está, ficou meio duocromático. Um filtrozinho warm up graduado de photoshop ali no céu já produzia um efeito legal...

beautiful dedication :) the calm and peaceful scene with the child playing is what every mother hopes for. I like a lot how you have used the light to emphasise silhouettes and add a silver coating to every detail. excellent work, my compliments.

An emotional dedication to our mothers especially mothers at Myanmar for this year. Hope they can recover their aches in a short time. Great view with valuable shadow parts and her attention for boy that easily recognizable by mother's body language. Great nature view in splendid colors and clarity as usual every time.

a imagem e bastante oportuna para o momento da comemoracao do Dias das Maes. A composicao da este elemento da mae ao fundo observando e vigiando a crianca para prevenir qualquer perigo. A composicao esta muito boa a este respeito.
A parte tecnica da foto esta "sofrivel" exatamente tal como voce colocou o seu comentario a critica do Victor. A critica dele esta no ponto como na maioria das vezes :-) e a sugestao de usar ND grad esta mais do que certo. Para dar uma comecada voce tem que contar mais ou menos uns US$ 150 para ter o filtro e o Cokin filter holder. O dinheiro compensa rapidamente assim que voce ver os resultados.

Hello Jose. A noble post for a special day. I like the image of mother and child relationship here. The mother is keeping full attention on the child and balances well in the frame. Mothers' Day is always 3 weeks before Easter in the UK so it was celebrated on 2nd MARCH this year. This is a lovely image. Taken into the sun, the silhouettes give a special atmosphere. Well done

Splendid composition. Excellent timing catching the mother and son relaxing on this beautiful beach, and still you were rewarded by the presence of the fishing boats. You managed very well the light to get not only a silhouette but also well defined forms. Very well done.

Hi Jose, This is a glowing and bright image, full of rich color. The mood is touching, with the mother watching over her playing child.We have a mother's day here in Thailand too, but it is celebrated on a different day. Children, also, visit their mother on their birthday and 'wai her' kneel in front of her and pay respect , in thanks for the gift of life.Mother's Sunday was traditionally the mid lent Sunday, but I suppose that that has been standardized these days to the second Sunday of may. Hi Jose, very nice tribute, and great shot of this mother with her boy. The composition is very good with the two of them at the beach, on the sand. The backdrop of the sun dappled water, with the boats, with the transition into the mountains and sky is excellent.
