Following a scenic road flanked by Huascarán 6768m and Huandoy 6428m one travels from Yungay to the Llanganuco Lagoons we arrive to the first lagoon, known as Chinancocha or "female lagoon" is surrounded by quenouille trees and its waters are of a beautiful turquoise color.

If one enjoys walking, one can continue towards the second lagoon, Orconocha, "male lagoon". The path begins at Chinancocha and the walk takes approximately one hour.

Following the Peruvian Legend, the 2 laggons would have been created by the tears of a Princess and a Prince because their love was impossible and not allowed.

Sorry, I just notice the the saturation is a bit exagerated ;o), but the blue of the water was really stunning !
