I would have guess this was taken in Banaue, the Philippines. I guess there are rice terraces in spots other than Asia of course. Simple and effective composition here and very nice colors. Lighting looks as though it was a little harsh, but we can't always bee at the scene during the golden hours. Very nice shot.

I'm struck with the multiple layers and patterns of lines in your image that's what really jumps to the eyes first...

This is the kind of scene that would almost work as well without any character in it, providing of course ther was something to hold her own baby carrier (I say almost because a human presence is always a bonus)... in fact her flat white hat is the only distracting thing in this festival of lines.

Great photo Mark. I like how you play here with the focus and the colors. The compo is great, I know the place and I see you allow as to observe the manificen of the landscape and also the local people. Pisaq is great, as well as your photo. Congratulations.

Hi Mark,
I really like this picture. The colors are really bright and the composition outstanding.
Even though the emphasis has been put on the Peruvian woman, the terraces, the Urubamba River and the Sacred Valley all add to the beauty of this photo.

What a great shot! I love the bright colours abd patterns of the textiles and clothes against the subtle greens in the out of focus background. The terracing on the middle slope makes the shot much more interesting as well. Nice work.

HI Mark,
A comment from jinju motivated me to tour your gallery, at first glance I saw our styles are different, you show mostly portraits while I shoot landscapes, but both variations are fine and I must say your portraits are great. However this view appealed more to me as there is a bit of landscape in it ;-)
I like here your thin Dof to isolate well the subject and the nice background blurred landscape, plus Rafal was right your colors come out superb, possibly the lens helps here a bit... I like as well the orientation of the person in a contemplation attitude. Really a nice photo !
