Photographer's Note

Capital of the Inca Empire and today considered historical capital of Peru, Cusco suffered great changes throughout its history. The first of them took place when the first Inca, Manco Capac, arrived with his group to inhabit the old Acamama and founded the city. After defeating the Chancas, the Inca Pachacutec assumed the power and transformed it into a great political and spiritual center, doing a lot of great workmanship around the city. But the greatest change took place when it was conquered by the Spanish, being half destroyed and rebuilt in European style. But it still keeps imposing indigenous constructions in the middle of a modern city. In the picture, the Weapons Square, in which the Cathedral of Cusco was built in place of the Palace of the Inca Viracocha.

Essa ficou ótima, o fundo bem colorido e esse arco no primeiro plano, mas acho que se ele ficasse mais escuro ficaria melhor, acho que é fácil resolver isso no PhotoShop, alterando o histograma, ou no Shadows, ficou estranho do jeito que está, parece que foi clareado na marra...

Foto bonita, escolheste bem o emolduramento, ótimas cores. Vc poderia ter puxado mais pelo zoom, e eliminado o pedaço da rua, fazendo a foto começar a partir da calçada. Mas, em geral, não compromete o trabalho, ele está bom. Um abraço, Consuelo

Esta cidade deve ser mesmo muito interessante, com toda a sua história e importante arquitetura. Gostei da idéia de criar a moldura, embora ela esteja um pouco estranha em termos de exposição. Me parece que você tentou clareá-la, talvez sem necessidade já que a silhueta lhe serviria. De qualquer forma a arquitetura domina a imagem e vale muito.

Oi Alexandre,

Gerar a luz neste tipo de foto e complicado pois a parte da frente e escura e o fundo bastante claro. Vejo que aqui vc recorreu ao photoshop p clarear os arcos, mas no caso nao acradito que seria necessario pois o que interessa e a paisagem ao fundo, os arcos funcionam apenes como uma moldura. No geral a foto funciona, a coposicao e bonita e o POV bem escolhido. Esta cidade e realmente muito especial ne?

Acho que esta sua viagem deve ter sido bem interessante mesmo. Gosto desta composição, a igreja ficou bem enquadrada. Jardim bem colorido e cheio de vida, gosto do senhor a dormitar no banquinho.Bonita foto!

Parece que os Açores ficaram em 2º lugar sim, mas não é apenas aquela ilha. O arquipélago tem 9 ilhas e aquela é a maior.

This came out in the Random photos in the intro page. I like the framing with the arched stone door. The Cathedral looks to be very rich in architecture and its colour makes it stand out against the sky. Well framed and taken shot!

Esse castelo ficou ótimo, com boa inclusão da bandeira e das pessoas e excelente moldura. Imagino que havia belas peruanas e talvez bolivianas na praça. Parabéns pelo trabalho.

I think it is a quite famous cathedral, I remember seeing it already many times. Lovely capture with original framing with he arch. I like also the including of people in the square, it adds a relaxing touch and some life to the scene.

Haha, Weapons Square! Plaza de Armas just sounds so much more refined. Weapons Square makes it sound like you're from the American South. :)

I like the effect of the framing here, but there are a couple of things I'd change. One can be changed, and one would be for next time. First, it's tilting slightly left. Easy correction. Second, I'd include more of the top of the arch. This feels a little cutoff. More of a note for next time.

Placed well the famous iconic cattedrale of Cusco, the arch frame wonderfully the sight outwards.
managed to include the flag and lamp-post on right, and show the vivid plaza in front of the impressive edifice.
