Photographer's Note
A brother and sister were playing behind this fence when I spotted them. At first I only took shots from far away inorder not to scare them off. The more photos I took, the more they took interest in me and began to trust me. I walked closer and closer and until in the end, I was shoot with the wideangle lens. This is one of the first ones I took of these two. They were wonderful subjects and were not the least bit camera shy. The wheel in the boy's hand is a toy he made that is common in most of the poorer countries and regions. I'm sure you have seen it before.

Hi, Mark, awesome portrait of these 2 kids. They look great. Nice cropping job, too. Keep them coming, man.
Best wishes,
Matt

Hmm, where to start. Loved your note about how you got closer. I learned something from that technique. But the photo - there's so much in it. Wide eyed kids with simple toys blocked by harsh barbed wire. Even the well worn path that drags your eye from the top comes to a sudden end at this fence and we're stuck on the other side. Really well done Mark.

Hello Mark,
There is something that disturb me here. This is probably the fence and these kids just behind it. It gives me a bad feeling.
That's too bad because everything was there: nice light; nice colors.

Well, the fence is disturbing, that's comprehensible. I like the way you describe the difficulty you experienced to take this shot. Of course I like your pict too...

No, they are absolutely not camera-shy, they give you an open look. Because of your title, I was a bit worried that they had to spend their lives behind wires, but it's just a fence, yet the title suggest something else. That could also be because English is not my first language.
Nice colors, Mark, and a nice compo, I like how you got on the same level.

I like the mood and the framing so much. Nice light too. the wires add something which is unexpected, at first I thought the boy was handiccaped, but it appears he is playing with a bike wheel.
