Photographer's Note

I feel that everybody expects from me some Gaudi-related shots but instead I decided to enter one of the most beautiful Barcelona churches in the Old Town. The church was already presented here, as everything else but it is really hard to show something new. There are currently 3556 photos from Barcelona town on TE already. I did not have much time to be original as well. For sure the interior of this church was one of the jaw-dropping experiences in Barcelona.

Barcelona‘s Ribera district is dominated by Santa María del Mar, an imposing church built between 1329 and 1383, at the height of Catalonia's maritime and mercantile preeminence. It is an outstanding example of Catalan Gothic, with a purity and unity of style that are very unusual in large mediaeval buildings.

Hello Mariusz,

A very original but very efficience and very nice POV. A good choice. Good mangment of light too which give beautiful warm colours. I like too the very nive graphic effect. Good and original photowork.

Czesc MAriusz,
No coz- nic tu nie moge dodac od siebie oprocz slow uznania. Nieprawdopodobna symetria, zakrecony POV, bardzo ladne, miekkie kolory. Efekt wizualny jest naprawde fantastyczny. Wiem, ze kazdy z nas ma inny swiatopoglad, ale mz jest to jedno z najlepszych zdjec w Twojej galerii.
Zastanawiam sie nad perspektywa, z ktorej strzelona byla ta fota- LCD na podlodze, czy body Canona ponad body Mariusza, ktory z kolei plackiem na posadzce lezal?
Tak czy inaczej czapa z glowy i gratulacje..

Actually Gaudi was my biggest interest for Barcelona shots, but this church of yours totally changed my mind. Not only its magnificent structure but also the medieval texture and combination of sepia-like&red tones make it really amazing.

I don't know how I missed this, but it's absolutely spectacular. The perspective is mind-blowing, as is the sharpness and light management. You must have been lying on your back to get this POV, wow, it's amazing. And you chose the horizontal frame, which is really effective for this composition.

The link that you have put in your critique to my last post has taken me to this photo and to your magnificent gallery of Barcelona.
I did not take a photo as this one, the truth is that I did not try a hard low-angle shot, like that you offer us here.
And I am sorry about it, because I have done it in different cathedrals, but not in Santa Maria del Mar. But nevertheless it is a real pleasure for me, that a good photographer who visits my city takes excellent photos that I have not in my files.
The image has a great sharpness, a magnificent control of the exposure, and a high aesthetic level, which values the beauty of the impressive architecture of the most beautiful church of Barcelona.

Wonderful upwards view insuide the Segrada-Familia big hall, Mariusz.
The tall arches and pillars gave good sense of the height. Also, well used the outside light.
