Photographer's Note

This is a beach on the northern California coast known as Glass Beach, in Fort Bragg. It is Site #2 of three total sites, that collectively formed what locals call "The Dumps" from 1906-1967. This particular stretch was in operation as the town's dump from 1943-1949. Glass Beach is known as the area with the highest concentration of sea glass in the entire world. The shards of glass are naturally tumbled and reclaimed by the tides, leaving these magnificent jewels behind.
