Photographer's Note
Bude (Cornish: Bud) is a small seaside resort town in North Cornwall, England, at the mouth of the River Neet (also known locally as the River Strat). It lies just south of Flexbury, north of Widemouth Bay and west of Stratton and is located along the A3073 road off the A39. Bude is twinned with Ergué-Gabéric in Brittany, France.[citation needed] Bude's coast faces the Atlantic Ocean.
Its earlier importance was as a harbour, and then a source of sea sand useful for improving the moorland soil. The Victorians favoured it as a watering place, and it was a popular seaside destination in the 20th century.
Notable buildings include the Perpendicular parish church (St Olaf's) in the village of Poughill just outside of Bude, the parish church of St Michael and All Angels (built in 1835 and enlarged in 1876) and the town's oldest house, Quay Cottage in the centre of town. Bude Castle was built about 1830 for Victorian inventor Sir Goldsworthy Gurney and is now a heritage centre.

Hello Marion,
What an interesting note, and what a good photograph with which to illustrate it.
This picture, to my mind, is perfectly composed, the curve of the fence and the diminishing row of beach huts placed very satisfactorily in the frame. The building behind and even the little set of steps down to the beach also add to the fine composition.
But I think the picture is a little overexposed and that gives it a rather "washed out" appearance. I hope you don't mind, but I've done a very simple and quick workshop for you - it's not perfect by any means, but see what you think.
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Marion - The curving line of beach huts are very attractively positioned in the frame and you've done well in the inclement weather. I agree with John that the shot is a little over exposed and the colour of the huts a little faded. Having said that the shot is attractive and has a typical English seaside feel. TFS and kind regards Rosemary

These beach huts are such a grateful object of photography, aren't they? The diagonal curve makes a magnificent composition here and tones are appropriate too (guess the weather wasn't great that day) :)
