Hallstatt is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria. It is located near the Hallstätter See (a lake). At the 2001 census, it had 946 inhabitants. Alexander Scheutz has been mayor of Hallstatt since 2009.

Hallstatt is known for its production of salt, dating back to prehistoric times, and gave its name to the Hallstatt culture, a culture often linked to Celtic, Proto-Celtic, and pre-Illyrian peoples in Early Iron Age Europe, c.800–450 BC. Some of the earliest archaeological evidence for the Celts was found in Hallstatt.

Hallstatt in China is a housing development in the town Luoyang, Boluo County, in China. It is modelled after the Austrian city Hallstatt.

The area was built by the mining company China Minmetals. The flats in the area are mostly still in construction and are for sale. The center of the area contains a replica of the church, the fountain and various other objects from the original Hallstatt./wiki/

This part of Austria reminds me some places in Switzerland. One lake one town. Excellent composition, perfect DoF! Unfortunately, we were in Styria and Carintia only.

Hello Piotr, Great photo of this old village where I have been many times. I like the use of the swan here in the composition In recent years this has become a real tourist place. Not sure if you took this from the shore or on a boat, but it is well done, as it is not easy to get an expansive shot on shore. Last time I was here we stayed at Bad Ischl, another great place. A fairy-tales scenery, Piotr.
Though I never been there, heared from friend the place is so charming and beautiful, undescribable with words.
Picture was taken from a great POV with the mountains as a backdrop to the lake and village scenery.

Cześc Piotrze, Slyszałam, że Halstatt to najbardziej artrakcyjna miejscowośc w Austrii. Angel byl zachwycony. Mnie tez by sie podobalo, ale jakos nie miałam okazji tam pojechać. rzeczywiscie slicznie to wyglada. Fajne te garaże dla łodzi. Dwa łabedzie plyna, ate z tylu to prawdziwe? Wydaja sie jakieś duże.
super kompozycja i kolory.
Rzeczywiscie jest Halstatt w Chinach??

widze ze bardzo fotograficznie udana wyprawa do Austrii. To tak bardzo ulubione wsrod fotografow miejsce znam tylko ze zdjec. Podoba mi sie Twoja odslona. This is a superb photo, well cropped and nicely composed and showing a beautiful village in a magnificent scenery. The swans are perfectly included near the bottom and it's amusing to compare them with the "swan boats" further back.

This town looks so charming and here it's bathing in a gorgeous sunlight, which brings out the nice details of the houses and the church tower so well, especially with the forested mountain slope in the background. Perfect composition and the swans are well included too.

that lighting you captured on the clock tower is perfect, wish I could have that in all of my shots :)

Looks similar to the terrain between Munich and Innsbruck. I have also been to Upper Austria. Good sharpness and the white swan boats make a fine focal point. Tfs!

even in a darker ambiance and in blue-grey chromatic context, Hallstatt is very lovely and fascinating. I like very much how you combined the picturesque waterfront with three beautiful natural elements: the mountain, the water and the sky.
