Berat is the most popular Albanian region on the TE.

Berat is a city and a municipality located in south-central Albania, and the capital of the County of Berat and also one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. In July 2008, the old town called Mangalem district, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The seat of the municipality is the city Berat. The total population is 60,031 (2011 census),

Berat lies on the right bank of the river Osum, a short distance from the point where it is joined by the Molisht river. The old city centre consists of three parts: Kalaja (on the castle hill), Mangalem (at the foot of the castle hill) and Gorica (on the left bank of the Osum). Hello Piotr,
i am glad to see you also visited Berat. I found it one of the nicest places in Albania with lots of interesting narrow streets to explore. This classic view is very inspiring, and hopefully it will look exactly like this for many more years. It is a straightforward, uncomplicated photo, but the light is good and it gives a good view of this part of the city.

cześc Piotrze, Jakie śliczne domki. wszystkie w podobnym stylu, jeden nad drugim. ładne okna i czerwone dachówki. Nawet te samochody tu nie przeszkadzają.

Hello Piotr,
Great photo of these many houses built against the steep slope of the hill. Most of the houses look the same, yet there are a lot of differences to discover between the houses as well, which makes this view more interesting. Great photo.

hmmm....interesting read, maybe i'll put this on my own TE map of places to visit. To be honest, i have given Albania about zero thought when it comes to picking a travel destination.
Perhaps that has to do with the fact I'm so far away and removed from it on the West coast of Canada. For Europeans it may be alot different, and easier to get to.

funny how you mentioned all the interesting architecture, bc here all we see is basically the exact same building over and over and over and over and over and over again. hahaha

Not to worry, i believe you :) this shot shows a much different side of the city, i still like it. Everything seems so linear and organised. cheers

Hello Piotr,I like the graphic quality of this scene; the houses are quite uniform and fairly regular.
The light and shade emphasises some more than others.

The white colour of the house in almost indentical shapes produces such an excllent contrast in general. Exposure is hard to find fault with, great focus with more depth of field, lovely vivid detail and colour richness. Excellent shot, Congrats
