Photographer's Note
HUE was the capital of Đàng Trong Kingdom from 1738 to 1775 and of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. Its major attraction here is its vast, 19th-century citadel. The grounds of this "Imperial City" are protected by fortified ramparts 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers, and ringed by a moat.
The Forbidden City is vast and you can spend hours wandering around inside.
We enjoyed exploring the many quiet corners of serenity.

THIS PICTURE shows one of those quiet corners. You might recognize the typical yellow paint, the dragons on the roof and the long-life symbolism in the blue windows.

Hello Benny,
I can't say I remember this quiet corner, but the citadel covers a huge area and there are lots of places looking as empty and forgotten as this. The seemingly eternal dark clouds of Hué contrast very nicely to the warm yellow walls of these pavilions. Some restoration is obviously needed. I wonder if there will be money for that.

Gert

Hallo Benny,
Vele groeten, Paul

An interesting courtyard, quiet corner makes impression.

Hello Benny ,
I love this old architecture , and especially the yellow walls . Even with poor light , that provides some brightness , like here .

Dag Benny,

Mooi foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten uit Oost-Vlaanderen,

Hi Benny
i'm sure there are many TE members who would find this view 'boring', but not me. there's so much to like with all the color variations, the lighting, the history and the grime on the ground and the yellow walls, not to mention the grime on the roofline too. love it. cheers

Hello Benny, Nice place in HUe, it looks indeed very quiet and is less visited than Hoi An. The Chinese influence is very well visible here. For me it was a big surprise, I haven't heard about the Viertnamese emperors (I am very bad in history). And this citadel is really impressive, there is much to see.
Kind regards Malgo
