Photographer's Note
The Multicolours of St. Vitus Cathedral
The silhouette of St. Vitus Cathedral can be seen from almost anywhere in Prague. The cathedral is part of the Prague Castle.
The first buildings appeared on this hill in the city Prague in 880 AD.
Around 925 AD a round building was built on the "Hill of the Gods" as a safe shrine for the hand of Saint Vitus. In the centuries that followed, the current St. Vitus cathedral was finally created.
The Prague Castle is the largest closed palace complex in the world and consists of several palaces and churches. The official office of the President of the Czech Republic is also part of the complex.
After a tiring climb up the hill in the oppressive heat, it was nice to relax in the coolness of the cathedral.
A beautiful Gothic interior was magically lit by the sunlight that flooded into the church through the brightly coloured stained glass windows.
A trio of photos in the order you will expect of me (zooming out) shows this.

Hello Rob,
I do not remember seeing these colors on the tall arches in the st. vitus, but it is a refreshing sight to the mostly brown and grey great walls there.
The two WS's are nice added complementaries.
Good afternoon,

Hi Rob,
The tight frame is putting this section of the cathedral in evidence. The point of view is showing the light reflections of the wall of the cathedral. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Rob,
Seeing the thumbnail I wasn't surprised to find it was posted by you. And despite the beauty of both WS photos I wasn't surprised that you chose this as the main upload. It shows naturally created spontaneous art, which possibly needed an artist to be observed and appreciated. The first WS shows us the amazingly beautiful culprit, whereas WS #2 is a lively view explaining the impressive dimensions of this cathedral. I love all three photos.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Rob, the colours are so brightly reflected on the stone pillars, and because of the shaping of the pillars, I could imagine this being draped fabric like a curtain!
The extra shots complement this close up so well.
I don't know what age the stained glass is, it looks quite modern in style to me.
And in the other w/s picture, once again we see the reflected colours on the highly polished floor.
Tfs, kind regards, Jean.

Hi Rob,I remember doing something similar in Barcelona's Sagrada Familia, and I also remember that it's not as easy to get bright colors and good details as in your photo. Good result also 2 useful WS that show the nave and the windows in the best exposure. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hallo Rob,
Het heldere zomerlicht werd hier mooi gekleurd en gefilterd op de dikke pilaren van de kathedraal geworpen. De grijze tinten van het steen krijgen zo een prachtig mozaďek.

Hi Rob,
This is beautiful. Wave patterns of these columns are impressive as such, and then there are this vibrant colours created by stained glass windows. Just great.

Hi Rob
Like all your architectural detail phtos, this is so well seen and well framed. You made an almost abstract image that is all about shapes and colours.
The two WS complement the main post well and both fit within the theme both for the colours and vertical format.
Best wishes
Kasia

Hello Rob,
I have been inside that cathedral and it has many stunning stained glass windows, which I dutifully photographed, but did not think to get an excellent abstract shot like this, with the light streaming onto the stone interior parts of the church. Tfs!

Hallo Rob,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello Rob,
I like the way you hinted at the stained glass windows by showing their colors on the cathedral interior. The undulating wall is a nice canvas for the bright and vibrant hues. Take care!

Dear Rob,
So, the St. Vitus too, has such a fancy lighting? Oh no, its only natural lightning. I remember that the Strasbourg Cathedral used to have some fancy artificial lights in 2012. Here us mine if you are interested: https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/France/East/Alsace//photo1446026.htm
Anyway, I envy you for these shots, especially for WS 2. It is really excellent. I would have chosen it as a main upload.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Rob,
All three photos are splendid, but I have a slight preference on the main entry, followed by the Stained Glass Chapel of St. Ludmila.

Hello Rob,
I just love your style of photography , you see the details and objects ... bringing it in 'close-up' exactly like this one.
You brought the multicoloured column to 'lively vibrancy' display. It's a fantastic photo.
I do like the WS2 too. Could be as the main photo. I could see where the lights coming from and the stained glass , the whole interior of this Cathedral.
You know, I've quite a similar photo taken in the church of Breda. Maybe I'll show it some other days :-)
Thanks for the inspiration of this amazing shot.
Loong
