Photographer's Note
Unfortunately, the whole day which I spent in Bristol was cloudy with the worst white type of clouds which make the world nearly unphotographable. It forced me to explore interiors. On the day of my visit, the Bristol Cathedral hosted an extraordinary exhibition called the Museum of the Moon. What you see here is a model of the Moon hanging in the main nave of the Bristol Cathedral. Read more about it below (Source: https://my-moon.org/about/). Check that website for the tour dates and locations. The Museum of the Moon will, for example, visit two locations in Belgium.
Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram.
Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface.
Over its lifetime, the Museum of the Moon will be presented in a number of different ways both indoors and outdoors, so altering the experience and interpretation of the artwork. As it travels from place to place, it gathers new musical compositions and an ongoing collection of personal responses, stories and mythologies, as well as highlighting the latest moon science.
The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. Each venue also programmes their own series lunar inspired events beneath the moon.

Hello Mariusz, a very interesting picture , and quite an unexpected sight.
The blue lights immediately capture our interest and then we see the moon with all its features.
The pulpit and the people emphasise the size of the model of the moon.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Mariusz, the bad weather was not so bad, after all you can photograph the external landscapes in the future, while this exhibition will remain in your memories. Really impressive this big moon, and the photo of our satellite between the columns of the church is an extraordinary composition, great quality as always. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
A great combination with this large and realistic moon hanging in the middle of the church. It is nicely framed by the large pillars, which also add a good contrast with the silvery tones of the moon. Well done.

Hello Mariusz,
Comparing to the pulpit, it becomes clear to us that the spherical replica of the moon has enormous dimensions.
Seven metres in diameter we can read in your note.
I like your presentation with the two huge columns framing the moon. The blue light makes it a little more mysterious.
I see that the Museum of the Moon is also going to the Light Festival in Ghent, a festival that is usually very crowded.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz,
Again, something you were not expecting to photograph and yet, it has worked out well!
I was surprised by your photograph!
It appeared as if the moon had fallen to Earth and was descending through the cathedral roof!
The blue lighting has added extra effects to the scene.
You chose a really good viewpoint, the pillars both framing the artwork and giving a good sense of depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Mariusz
This scene looks rather bizarre until you realise that it is an exhibition. A good photo of this unusual looking view.

Hello,
Spectacular composition, a very good POV to illustrate that amazing exhibition. We had this too, on a festival and in different buildings.

It is an amazing display, at first I wonder what that would be...
A nice indoor's take, Mariusz, the purple illuminations adds a mysterious texture to the church hall.
Have a nice friday,

Hi Mariusz,
An intriguing and well composed photo. It looks like a surrealist painting, and your composition makes it look like the moon is sitting in the structure in the foreground (baptismal font?).

Hi Mariusz
The suspended moon above the boy inside the cathedral adds a surrealistic touch that Salvador Dali could have envisaged. Good sharpness and the blue outside light permeating the interior adds an eerie glow. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
How surreal and beautiful! The blue lighting surrounding the moon makes it looks like there's a bit of outer space inside the cathedral. I like how we're just seeing part of the moon between the large columns, too. Take care!

Hello Mariusz,
This is an interesting installation in a cathedral. Is Bristol Cathedral one of those former worship places repurposed as a museum?
Regards,
MT
